CURRICULUM

At Rivertree, the goal of education is a life well-lived. We believe knowledge is a tool which is to be obtained and expressed in the context of a living relationship with Jesus. Every one of our students is made in the image of God; therefore, every one of our students is honored and respected as a person of infinite worth and potential. We expect each child to apply himself or herself with discipline and perseverance to become the best student he or she can be. All students are worth a great education; therefore, we provide an inclusive education for any student from Como who we believe we can serve well.

We provide an engaging and varied curriculum to nurture children’s inherent desire to learn. The atmosphere of Rivertree is enjoyable, safe, and inviting and inspires children to pursue learning and growth. A core principle of our curriculum is a broad and rich infusion of the arts, citizenship, culture, and community into language and mathematics content. Through project-based learning and interdisciplinary (thematic) units, children are taught academic content and skills. The curriculum is designed to be applicable and relatable to the students at any age.

We seek to prepare all our students to succeed academically by setting a goal for all students to perform at or above grade level in their core content areas. Long-term goals are for our students to perform in the top 25% of their peers based on national standardized test scores. Until Rivertree reaches 12th grade, we will ensure that our students are fully prepared to succeed in whatever school environment they transition into after their time at Rivertree Academy.
