EDUCATING UNDER-RESOURCED STUDENTS TO LIVE LIFE WELL
Allow us to introduce ourselves
Rivertree Academy is a private Christian school in Fort Worth, Texas providing community-funded education for under-resourced students in the Lake Como neighborhood.
Put simply, we educate students to
"They just need an opportunity. Research shows, and our school data exhibits, that when a trusting adult invests in a child's life everything else follows. Using relationships as a starting point, our students are learning to read above grade-level, be leaders on their sports' teams, and be Christ-followers who love others well."
- Ms. Emily Ryan
"Our nation has been trying for over 50 years to address the educational plight of poor and disadvantaged children. While some progress has been made, these children remain woefully behind their more advantaged classmates on every measure of academic achievement and success."
- Dr. Vernard T. Gant
Director, Urban School Services, Association of Christian Schools International
"Every one of our children has the potential to change the world."
-Dr. Randy Brown
Founder / Chairman
on an education that engages the heart. A Christian education addresses the intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of children.
Rivertree graduates will be:
who ask great questions and pursue answers with passion and perseverance.
CONFIDENT AND EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATORS
who can win most any argument but have the wisdom to know when not to, who are comfortable in conversation with the homeless and with billionaires.
who get the job done, but who know when to rest. Skilled with their hands, our students will be able to prepare a meal from seed to table, fix a fence while quoting great literature, sew, build, paint, or play an instrument.
FOLLOWERS OF JESUS
who trust Him and choose to live in humble friendship with Him. They feel loved and valued by God, they love people, and they forgive as quickly as they can.
who are consistently promoted to greater positions of authority and influence, which they use to empower others and to be pillars upon which their communities can build.
Corey was born and raised in Como, and he is the first member of his family to attend college. Learn how the investment of a caring family changed his life trajectory.
In order to keep Rivertree Academy affordable for urban families, the fair share tuition at Rivertree is based on a family’s ability to pay. With most of our families coming from low-income homes, more than 95% of the cost of education is covered by our Partners.
A Full Partner at Rivertree Academy provides a full sponsorship for an individual student. Full Partners contribute $10,000 annually.
A Half Partner supports the education of a student with an annual investment of $5,000. We encourage our Half Partners to find a friend to partner with them.
A Partner Group is a small group of individuals who together share the financial and time commitment of a Full Partner. This is a great option for a Bible study, small group, or group of friends.
Monthly Donors to Rivertree Academy give vital support that allows us to purchase books, bibles, microscopes, classroom and art supplies, as well as offer enrichment outings to the ballet, museum, and symphony. Ten donors at $84 a month will sponsor one student at Rivertree Academy for the year.
Rivertree Academy needs people to help us form a hedge of protection and blessing around our students (Job 1:10). As a volunteer with Rivertree Academy, you will be Helping, Encouraging, Discipling, Growing, and Educating (HEDGE) our students.
We will do our best to match you with opportunities and students that fit your knowledge, skills, interests, and availability.
At Rivertree Academy, we believe that the prayers offered in faith by our prayer warriors are absolutely essential to the fulfillment of our mission and vision. We are grateful to God that He continues to raise up men, women, and children to pray for our school, and we continuously marvel at the way He is providing for us and answering prayer.
