Ways to Help Rivertree during the COVID-19 Outbreak
Following state closure guidelines, Rivertree students will finish their school year from home. Our staff will return on May 4th and pack up the classrooms for year-end. Because of current social distancing guidelines, we will not be able to have volunteers return to help us this school year. We are so grateful for your prayers and support from afar!
Because Rivertree takes a whole-child approach to education, our families depend on Rivertree not only for an excellent education, but also for meals and many other support services. We will continue providing the following support through the end of the school year:
Weekday meal pick-up or delivery: We remain committed to providing this vital service to our students. Your generous donations of non-perishable items have allowed us to send extra food home each day!
Online and Distance Learning: Our students' work has shifted to online assignments in reading and math, including virtual lessons from their teachers. Teachers remain in constant contact with students and parents to provide support and track progress.
Spiritual Support: In addition to core subjects, Bible curriculum remains a priority. The Rivertree Chaplain is available to talk to any students, families, or staff members, and he is sending out encouragement via email each week.
Here are current ways you can help our students:
Please continue checking back to this page for updated ways you can support them during this time.
Pray! Please join us in praying for our world, our nation, and our school. We are trusting God and asking for protection for our students, families, staff, and each of YOU during this outbreak. Thank you for your outpouring of support during this time!
Gifts toward general operations or student scholarships. Whether we are operating at our campuses or finding ways to continue educating remotely, Rivertree must still raise over 93% of the cost to operate each day. An unrestricted gift or a gift toward a student’s scholarship during this time provides support for the present day and for the future. Having the ability to operate with flexibility to meet our students’ needs as our situation is constantly changing with COVID-19 is only possible through your generous support.
Gifts earmarked to pay hourly employees and our staff. Rivertree made the decision to retain our full staff even while we are closed. We believe we have a commitment to honor and do not want our staff members to experience undue hardship in this time of great uncertainty. Your gift toward salaries allows us to retain our dedicated, qualified staff and is a gift so that they are not financially impacted by our closing.
Donations of packing and cleaning supplies for year-end. Any of the items listed here can be dropped off at our Bonnell campus Monday - Friday from 11 - 1 before May 1st.
Donations of non-perishable food items: We are so grateful for your generous donations of non-perishable food items that have allowed us to send extra food home for our students and their families! You can drop off additional items through May 15th, Monday - Friday from 11 - 1 at our Bonnell campus (5439 Bonnell Ave. 76107)
