Ways to Help Rivertree during the COVID-19 Outbreak

We started our 6th year of school on August 17th in a hybrid, phased re-opening. Students are assigned to A and B cohorts and come to school two days per week and participate in online learning at home two days per week, allowing us to have even smaller class sizes and adequate social distancing. Our exploratory classes, literacy support, counseling, and chapel are all still happening virtually! Through your support and donations, we are able to continue providing an excellent education and family resources, even if it looks very different right now!

During Phase 1, volunteers are not returning to campus yet. We will be kicking off our virtual mentoring program on September 11th. If you are interested in being paired with a mentee for the monthly mentoring meetings, please contact Shineta Odom at shineta@rivertreeacademy.org

Here are THREE ways you can help our students right now:

Please continue checking back to this page for updated ways you can support them during this time.

  • Pray! Please join us in praying for our world, our nation, and our school. We are trusting God and asking for protection for our students, families, staff, and each of YOU during this outbreak. Please ask God to give us wisdom as we adjust to the many unique situations this year. Thank you for your outpouring of support during this time!

  • To help purchase supplies for the year, please check out our Amazon wishlist. We are continually updating it as Teachers discover more necessary items.

  • Gifts toward general operations or student scholarships. Whether we are operating at our campuses or finding ways to continue educating remotely, Rivertree must still raise over 94% of the cost to operate each day. Our most urgent need continues to be for unrestricted funding, which allows us to more easily adjust our strategy as the COVID-19 pandemic continues evolving, while providing stability to our students through making the same services available to them.
