Ways to Help Rivertree during the COVID-19 Outbreak
As of March 23rd, we will remain closed through April 3rd for the protection of our students, faculty, and staff. We are closely monitoring the situation and will decide if we need to remain closed for additional time based on recommendations from the CDC and other National, State, and Local authorities.
Because Rivertree takes a whole-child approach to education, our families depend on Rivertree not only for an excellent education, but also for meals and many other support services. We are committed to continuing to meet these needs while we are closed.
Our Teachers sent home curriculum packets for students to complete from home and we will be utilizing online learning tools for our curriculum. School administrators and teachers will continue to work to serve our children even though school is not in session.
We are still offering lunches to-go for our students each day while we are closed. Most of our students participate in the lunch program and we feel this is necessary and important.
Our Chaplain is available by phone for our staff and families to talk and pray with.
Here are current ways you can help our students:
Please continue checking back to this page for updated ways you can support them during this time.
Pray! Please join us in praying for our world, our nation, and our school. We are trusting God and asking for protection for our students, families, staff, and each of YOU during this outbreak. Thank you for your outpouring of support during this time!
Gifts toward general operations or student scholarships. Whether we are operating at our campuses or finding ways to continue educating remotely, Rivertree must still raise over 93% of the cost to operate each day. An unrestricted gift or a gift toward a student’s scholarship during this time provides support for the present day and for the future. Having the ability to operate with flexibility to meet our students’ needs as our situation is constantly changing with COVID-19 is only possible through your generous support.
Gifts toward food for our students. After speaking with each family at Rivertree, about half of our students expressed they still need meals during this time, so we are offering a lunch and snack to-go each day that we are closed. While we do participate in the free lunch program, there are many contingencies during this time. Your gift toward these meals allows us to meet their needs and remain flexible in what we provide. Thank you to our friends at Jetstream Oil and Gas for underwriting the cost of meals for the first two weeks!
Gifts earmarked to pay hourly employees and our staff. Rivertree made the decision to retain our full staff even while we are closed. We believe we have a commitment to honor and do not want our staff members to experience undue hardship in this time of great uncertainty. Your gift toward salaries allows us to retain our dedicated, qualified staff and is a gift so that they are not financially impacted by our closing.
Donations of non-perishable food items: We are so grateful for your generous donations of non-perishable food items! You can drop off additional items March 24th - March 27th from 11 - 1 at our Bonnell campus (5439 Bonnell Ave. 76107)
